Nanotechnology I Course Description

General: This course is an introduction to different disciplines of Nanotechnology. It is designed for PhD students of Physics, Chemistry and Engineering who are enrolled as students of Nanoscience and Nanotechnolgy in INST of Sharif University of Technology. It aims to help the students have an overview of different aspects important in Nanotechnology. In Nanotechnology I, the focus will be on Optoelectroncis (including quantum dots, wires, ...), Carbon nanostructures and Mechanical properties. 

Text book: There is not a certain textbook. The materials will be copied and distributed.

Requirements: A background in quantum mechanics and solid state physics, as well as  chemistry of materials and spectroscopy will be useful but not necesary.
