Unsigned magnetic flux density

Note the fractal nature of magnetic flux concentration in the solar photosphere. The voids are internetworks while the periphery marks the magnetic networks. Network is the place of accumulation of small-scale magnetic flux tubes. They are seen permanently bright in the chromosphere. Turbulent convection in quiet Sun is a reach topic both in the photosphere and chromosphere. You can find below examples of some of the papers we have published about photospheric properies of quiet Sun in observations and 3D MHD simulations.
