Education

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, 2007, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA.

M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, 2003, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA.

B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, 2001, Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran

Research

The study of the fundamentals of communication circuits and systems, along with its integrated implementations. Analysis, modeling, and design of high performance analog and mixed signal integrated circuits. My particular interest is research into radio frequency (RF) integrated circuits in both deep submicron CMOS and hetero-structure silicon-germanium bipolar transistors.

Biography

Ali Medi received the Ph.D. and M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA in 2007 and 2003, respectively, and B.Sc. in electrical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2001. His doctoral research was mainly focused on design, implementation and test of ultra-wideband (UWB) transceivers.

He has joined the Electrical Engineering department of the Sharif University of Technology as an Assistant Professor in 2007. He was a Research Assistant at the UltRaLab USC, from 2002 to 2007, where he worked in the field of analog and RF circuit design for ultra-wideband systems.
