| The mission of the Center of Excellence in Structures & Earthquake Engineering (CESEE) is to perform research on innovative but rigorous solutions to problems in structural engineering (analysis & design) and earthquake engineering (various aspects on analysis, design and strengthening) with emphasis on improved numerical and experimental techniques, and to transfer this technology to the industry. These solutions reduce uncertainly, increase safety and reduce the cost of operation and maintenance of existing structures and of building new ones. Graduate students at MS and PhD levels are involved along with principal investigators, which in turn provide continuous and high level educational performance and dissemination of advanced information. The center is established by six principal members and has also 7 associated members. During the past 5 years, over 60 journal papers and over 140 conference papers have been published by the center. Also, 7 books are published and 12 national and international awards are received by the members. The center has an advanced shaking table, a recently completed strong floor with high range of uses and capabilities and also sophisticated computer center. | ||||
