Introduction
The staff and faculty members of the Chemistry Department have endeavored to create a program of study in which the students, while learning theories, become acquainted with new advances in chemistry and acquire a level of competency that enables them to continue their education anywhere in the world or work in a modern research center or industry. The department has, employed from it's inception in 1966, the most modern educational and research instruments and has created a library well-endowed with journals and books. The department offers B.S., M.Sc. and PhD. degrees in chemistry and applied chemistry. Currently, the Department of Chemistry has about 260 undergraduate, 83 M.Sc. and 52 PhD. students. Each year approximately 50 undergraduates are admitted to the department.
