AMRC was founded in
March of 1992 in Tehran, IRAN, as a joint venture by
Industrial
Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) and
Sharif University of
Technology (SUT). The mission of AMRC is in general to host and introduce state of the
art and advanced industrial automation hardware and software to all sectors of
industry, in particular auto industry of Iran.
AMRC is a holder of two
Principal
Licenses, one from Ministry of Science, Research and Technology for the
establishment and running of its academic and educational arm of Advanced
Manufacturing Technology (AMT) and the other from Ministry of Industries and
Mines for establishment and operation of
its state of the art industrial manufacturing, namely, Advanced Research Center
(ARC). Established ARC facilities have already contributed to a host of
activities in advanced manufacturing technology.
Moreover, with resources available,
especially eminent professors and industrialists, many research projects and
short courses have already been undertaken and completed successfully. The
Board of Directors of AMRC consists members from both academia and industry.
AMRC is
the supporting member of International Federation
of Robotics (IFR).

Mission
The following outlines various aspects of AMRC aforementioned task.

Scientific studies, Applied, Developmental and Interdisciplinary Research,
Planning and Laboratory-Workshop Operations for application of computerized
advanced technologies in the fields of production management automatic system,
automatic design systems, advanced manufacturing systems, integration of automatic systems.

Providing
educational and training opportunities
in AMT with due regards to the technical expertise required in the industry.

Rendering consulting
services in automation such as Opportunity Analysis and selection of Appropriate
Technology, Market Surveys, Feasibility Studies, Product Design, Tool Design,
Plant design, Prototyping, automation of warehouse and handing systems.

Rendering Training Services for on-the-job and developmental
theoretical-scientific courses in the fields of design, manufacturing and
production automation, rendering supporting services and facilities for training
and research in technical and engineering post-graduate courses.

Corporation (with universities, ministries, etc.) in preparation and running of
post-graduate educational and research courses in the fields required in the
industry.

Substantiation of academia-industry cooperative relation.
-
Diffusion of the automation culture using all means including seminars,
technical reports, publication of books and magazines in automation arena.
